ALUMNI
We would like to congratulate you on your sons acceptance to join the Alabama Alpha Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon. The Alabama Alpha chapter was founded on November 7, 1908, making it one of the oldest chapters in the country. Sigma Phi Epsilon is the largest social fraternity in the United States of America with over 250,000 lifetime members.
Our new member development program is one of the finest in the country. Since our founding on November 7, 1908, we have modeled our development program around our three cardinal principles: virtue, diligence, and brotherly love. Our program emphasizes diligence by encouraging new members to participate in intramural sports, join on-campus clubs, run for student government positions, and ultimately manage their time more efficiently. New members will have mandatory study hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays of every week. Often older brothers will volunteer to help tutor students who are struggling in certain subjects. We will also host numerous guest speakers throughout the semester. These speakers will talk about topics such as “Transitioning into College Life,” “Success Strategies,” and “Ethical Decisions.”
By the time the new member is ready to be initiated , he appreciates what he has been through, and has grown as a man. He is confident, but knows the importance of modesty . He is disciplined, but knows the value of fun. He is a balanced man.
For over 100 years the Alabama Alpha Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon has built balanced men, and as time has passed our program has only improved. If you have any comments, questions or concerns please submit them below.
